Let’s Make a Baby
“Let’s Make a Baby” is from “Flounder,” my rock opera based on the Günter Grass book. It seems, that all my friends are doing it– on purpose! Reproducing! Representin’ the Hotness of Sex For Procreation! When I wrote the first draft of “Let’s Make a Baby,” I suspected it might be the simplest thing I had ever conceived. As we played it I realized that it actually required 9 tempo changes. It was a challenging undertaking after all. I mapped the tempos and the band heroically danced over them.
Let’s Make a Baby – Lyrics
Oooh, baby
Let’s make a baby
Buh-buh baby–
Let’s make a baby
Eat codfish soup
Flush the pills away
Let’s Make Love
Let’s make a baby
Your feeling penetrates mine–
in hard thrusts
We work doubly
And well
Codfish eyes
float white
and signify happiness
Let’s make a baby!
Let’s make a baby
Let’s make a baby
LET’S MAKE A BABY!
Ohhh, baby
Let’s make a baby
Buh-buh baby–
Let’s make a baby
Eat codfish soup
Flush the pills away
Let’s Make Love
LET’S MAKE A BABY!
